A House Becomes a Home: The Big Surprise Behind Our Habitat for Humanity Build
Wed Jun 17 2026
There is nothing quite like the moment a family unlocks the front door to their new home for the very first time. But this past Friday, when a local family of five turned the key to their new house in Vero Beach, they were met with something they never saw coming.
They thought they were walking into an empty floor plan. Instead, they stepped into a completely customized, fully furnished, move-in-ready home.
Here is a look behind the scenes at how Jetson, alongside our incredible community partners, pulled off the ultimate surprise.
Stepping Up as the House Sponsor
At Jetson, we believe in building our community from the ground up. That is why we were incredibly proud to step up as the official House Sponsor for this year’s Indian River Habitat for Humanity build.
Affordable housing is a growing challenge, and Habitat for Humanity’s mission to provide local families with a solid foundation is something we deeply believe in. Working alongside the Realtors Association of Indian River County—who served as the build sponsor—we watched this project transform from an empty lot into a beautiful structure. But we knew the real magic was going to happen on the inside.

A Well-Kept Secret
A house is just walls and a roof, but the people and the memories made inside are what make it a home.
For the past three years, Jetson has proudly partnered with the iTHINK Community Foundation’s "Building Up" initiative. Together, our goal has been to alleviate the stress of moving by fully furnishing the interiors of Habitat homes.
While the family knew they were receiving a house, the fully furnished interior was a tightly guarded secret. In the weeks leading up to Friday’s dedication, the iTHINK team was hard at work moving in couches, stocking the kitchen with dishes and towels, and hanging décor. They even went the extra mile to design each of the children's bedrooms around their specific individual interests and personalities.
Friday’s Big Reveal
The dedication ceremony on Friday brought everything together. Surrounded by volunteers, community members, and the teams from Jetson and iTHINK Financial, the family officially received their keys.
Adam took a moment to address the crowd and officially welcome the family home, noting the power of community collaboration.
When the family finally opened the doors, the reaction was unforgettable. Seeing the kids discover their personalized bedrooms and watching the parents realize that they didn't just have a new house—they had a complete, comfortable home—made every ounce of effort worth it.

Looking Forward
We want to extend a massive thank you to Indian River Habitat for Humanity, the iTHINK Community Foundation, and everyone who swung a hammer, moved a piece of furniture, or showed up to support this family.
Welcome home!
